ZEEL's cons operating revenues for Qtr of Rs 5260mn, up 37%

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) (ZEE.BO, ZEE.NS) today reported fourth quarter consolidated revenues of Rs 5,260 million representing a 37% growth over the corresponding period in the previous fiscal. The consolidated operating profit stood at Rs 1,302.8 million. These are higher by 37% as compared to the corresponding quarter last fiscal. Profit before tax for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2008 was Rs 1,474.50 million while Net Profit was Rs 1,044.2 million, recording a growth of 49% over the corresponding period last fiscal year.

 

The numbers as published are after consolidating the financials of Taj TV Limited (Taj) and ETC Networks Limited (ETC). The Board of Directors in its meeting held today, has taken on record the unaudited consolidated financial results of ZEEL and its subsidiaries for the quarter ended March 31, 2008.

 

Mr. Subhash Chandra, Chairman, stated, “ZEEL has remained focused on its core strength of content offerings, which is aligned to its viewers’ preference and as a result viewership share for all its channels in respective genre have improved. Operating performance of the company is improved with a good finish to this fiscal year and now management team is confident of achieving higher growth in new fiscal 2009”
