SAIl in JV with Tata Steel for development of coking coal

Steel Authority of India has announced its fourth quarter results. The company's Q4 net profit up 25% at Rs 2376.8 crore versus Rs 1901.8 crore.

Its net sales were up at Rs 13350 crore from 10385 crore. Its Q4 other income was up at Rs 618 crore from Rs 640 crore. For FY08, the company's net profit stood at Rs 7536.8 crore as against Rs 6202.3 crore. Its FY08 net sales at Rs 39508 crore versus Rs 33923

Its Debt/Equity ratio was at 0.13:1 against 0.24:1.EPS was at Rs 18.25 up by 22%.

It recorded highest domestic sales of 12 MT.

JV company with TATA Steel formed for development of coking coal mines.

Two JV companies set up in for production of slag cement at Bhailai and Bokaro Steel plant with JP Associate. SEZ at Salem being set up along with IL&FS, proposal cleared by board of approval, Gol.
