The Ambani brothers will be meeting yet again in their backyard on Tuesday- the courts. And this time it’s not telecom space or airport hangars, but natural gas, which is the bone of contention. The dispute revolves around the sale of natural gas from the Krishna-Godavari Basin to third parties, by Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance (RIL).

Anil-Ambani led Reliance Natural Resources Ltd had earlier staked claim to atleast half the 80 million standard cubic metres a day, which is the planned peak output from the KG-D6 fields. RIL, which is slated to start production from July end, will push to remove the sale restrictions on it, which have continued since May 5. On the other hand, the Anil Ambani group is expected to maintain its argument that RIL cannot enter into contracts with companies other than RNRL and state-run NTPC.
