Gayatri Projects posts 70.57% growth in PAT

Gayatri Projects Limited (GPL), the Hyderabad-based Infrastructure Company has posted a 70.57 per cent impressive jump in profit at Rs 401.93 millions for the year ended on March 31, 2008, compared to Rs 235. 64 million in the last fiscal.

 

Commenting on the results, GPL Managing Director, Mr Sandeep Reddy said “We have continued our impressive performance, which is reflected in the figures. With the thrust on infrastructure, the company’s dream run will continue in the coming period”.  

 

GPL has posted a handsome rise of 49.82 per cent in net sales at Rs 7522.60 million during the financial year ended March 31, 2008, as compared to Rs 5021.20 million in the corresponding period a year ago.

 

The earning per share (EPS) of the GPL rose smartly at Rs 39.78 during the financial year ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 23.56 reported in the corresponding period last year.

 

The company has took on record the unaudited results for the 4th quarter and audited results for the year ended March 2008 at its board meeting held here today.

 

As per the unaudited quarterly results, the net sales for GPL, an ISO 9001- 2000 Company engaged in the execution of major civil works, rose to 2707.39 million in the quarter ending March 31, 2008, a hike of 63.10 per cent over Rs 1659.93 million in the corresponding period last year.

 

The Earning per share (EPS) was reported at Rs 13.84 in the quarter ending March 31, 2008 as against Rs 3.17 in the corresponding quarter last year.

 

The company, founded four decades ago, is at present involved in the construction of projects worth over Rs 3,450 crore in states like Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Orissa. Among the projects are national and state highways, dams, reservoirs, ash ponds and major canal works.

 

The total project cost undertaken by the company is worth over Rs 2,400 crore.

 

Among the prestigious projects executed by the company is the well-known Nagarjuna Sagar in Andhra Pradesh.
