Edelweiss appoints Siby Antony as Executive VP

Edelweiss Capital today announced the appointment of Siby Antony as Executive Vice President with Edelweiss Alternate Asset Advisors (EAAA). EAAA is the alternative investments arm of Edelweiss Capital and Mr. Anthony will head its distressed assets business.

 

A Masters in Economics, Mr. Anthony has over 38 years of experience in Project Financing and Distress Asset Management including monitoring and recovery.

 

Prior to joining Edelweiss, Mr. Anthony was the Executive Director at IDBI Bank, looking after the Stressed Assets Stabilisation Fund of the Government of India. During his tenure he was responsible for resolving over 400 out of 600 distress cases totaling Rs. 3000 crore in little over two years.

 

Mr. Anthony was also the Chairman of the Empowered Group of the Corporate Debt Restructuring (CDR) mechanism instituted by the Reserve Bank of India.

 

“At Edelweiss we look at distressed assets as major business opportunity. We are very happy that a professional with the experience and knowledge of Siby Anthony has decided to head the business,” Mr. Rashesh Shah, Chairman and Managing Director Edelweiss Capital said.
