Blue Dart Express Limited, South Asia’s No. 1 integrated Air Express, Courier and Logistics Company has decided to revise prices in its air and ground services, owing to rising input costs.

The decision has come in the wake of the recently revised diesel prices, negatively impacting the cost of operations of the vast network of ground vehicles across the country. A greater impact is also being felt in its air express operations with crude oil prices moving up by more than 30% this year, to touch levels of $130-a barrel. A double-digit spiralling inflation is further adding to the woes, with cost of input services & products rising. The inflation has also led to an increase in  the fuel prices, and other factors of the business.

Price hike expected in ground is in the region of 10-15%, while on air; it is expected to rise by 15-20%.

On this decision, Ketan Kulkarni, Head of Marketing, Corporate Communications & Sustainability, Blue Dart commented, ‘With the diesel price increase for the second time in a row this year, we are compelled to step up our tariff to mitigate the impacts. The spiralling cost of Aviation Turbine Fuel is another area of concern. We are in the process of implementing and communicating the revised rates to our customers. We are committed to providing our loyal customers world-class and innovative solutions for their distribution needs.  As a responsible partner, to our clients, we are also looking at various measures to increase our operational efficiencies to remain our customers’ first choice.’
