Franklin India Prima Plus augmented its weightage to food & beverages, while pared weightage to banking.
The analysis of the scheme for March 2008 shows that in the food & beverage segment, it bought 60,000 shares of Nestle India. There was rise in the weightage of chemical and telecom sectors due to increase in the prices of the stocks held by the scheme. (View - What is Franklin India Prima Plus buying / selling?)
In the banking space, it introduced Centurion Bank and sold HDFC Bank. In the cement and construction pack, it introduced DLF, but sold Unitech . It exited GAIL in gas supply sector.
Infosys, HDFC and Bharti Airtel were the top stocks held by the scheme in March. Banking (21.53%), Technology (12.33%) and Engineering (11.58%) were the top invested sectors in the scheme's portfolio. (Check out - Top stocks held by Franklin India Prima Plus).
The equity exposure of the scheme has dropped from 96.43% to 96.20%. The total assets managed by the scheme were of Rs 1480.93 crore as on March 31, 2008.
Over the last six months, Franklin India Prima Plus has yielded 17.6% returns as against 21.69% yielded by its benchmark S&P CNX 500 as on April 11, 2008.
