The markets were quiet on expiry day. The rollovers remained low, market wide rollover at 71% and Nifty rollover at 56.6%. Sector wise, the strongest rollover seen in cement, IT, metal and banking space and weakest rollover seen in FMCG, auto and power space.
From last expiry day (February 28) to this expiry the S&P CNX Nifty lost over 8%. Stocks like Unitech, ICICI Bank, Siemens, SAIL and Tata Steel have plunged over 20%.
However, stocks like Tata Communications, Hindustan Unilever, Cipla and ONGC witnessed some buying interest.
