It was phenomenal day for the Indian equity markets as the BSE Sensex hits 19,000 mark. It was fastest ever 1,000 points rally from 18000 to 19000 mark, which took only four days to cover this gap. The previous fastest 1000 rally took 6 days to travel the gap between 16000 to 17000.
The major contributors to this thousand points rally were Reliance Industries 153 points, ICICI Bank 120 points, ONGC 119 points, L&T 108 points and Bharti Airtel 96 points.
During this rally (from October 09 to12) FIIs were net buyer to the tune of Rs 3,257 crore.

During this rally in BSE Sensex, ONGC has gained by 21%, Reliance Energy and Hindalco Industries surged up by 20% and 15% respectively.
Eventhough the markets were roaring, few stocks in Sensex delivered negative returns. IT major Satyam Computer and Infosys Technologies have lost nearly 6% each.
