Roaring Indian equity markets got a big blow on account of cap proposed by the government on P Note based derivative investments. On October 17, 2007 markets opened with huge gap down and were locked in 10% lower circuit in the opening trade and ended with over 300 points loss on Sensex.
Today (October 18, 2007) markets opened on very strong note and traded with hefty gain for the first half of the day. But suddenly after noon markets started sliding and Sensex lost over 700 points at the end on the day. In these two days Sensex has lost over 1000 points (- 5.5%).
Moneycontrol research data shows that in this mayhem how much stocks have lost in these two days.
In BSE 500, Tata Power Company, ACC, Mangalam Cement, Indiabulls Financial Services and Reliance Energy were major losers as they have lost over 16%.
