The total market cap of the top leading public and private sector power companies have beefed up by 22%. The market cap is calculated on the companies mentioned in the table below.

Moneycontrol researched data shows that few power stocks have performed extremely well in the last 15 trading session (from September 09 to October 03, 2007).

In the power sector, ADAG group stocks were the top performers in terms of percentage gains. RNRL gained by 85% and its market cap gained by Rs 13489 crore. As of its market cap is at Rs 33146 crore. Reliance Energy surged by 69% and its market cap increased by Rs 13489 crore. As of now its market cap is at Rs 33146 crore.

NTPC is the leader with a market cap of Rs 178926 crore (October 03, 2007).
