Telecom major, Bharti Airtel becomes only the fourth company in Indian history to cross two lakh crore market capitalisation after Reliance Industries, Azim Premji's Wipro and PSU oil major ONGC.
With the ongoing bull run, the stock has been witnessing euphoric rally for past one month and the stock has been hitting new highs. today at 10:06 am, the share was trading at Rs 1,102.20, up 5.95%, with volumes of 1,76,961 shares. The market cap stood at Rs 2,09,165 crore.
The first generation entreprenuer and the promoter of the group, Mr Sunil Bharti Mittal's net worth has skyrocketted in past one month and he is now worth 1.44 lakh crore. Mittal holds 69.03% stake in Bharti Airtel.
RBI has allowed FIIs to buy further shares of Bharti Airtel as their holding falls below caution limit. This news has propelled the stock to a new high of Rs 1,149. The stock has added over 17,000 crore in market cap in today's trade.
Wipro crossed the Rs 2-lakh crore mark in 2000, ONGC achieved the feat in 2006. Mukesh Ambani Group Company, Reliance Industries remains on the top with more than three lakh crore market cap.
