Appreciating rupee has been playing a spoilt sport for Indian IT companies. Rupee has appreciated by approximately 10% in this calendar year and has impacted the operating margins of Indian software services exporters.

Generally, a 1% rise in the value of the rupee against the dollar shaves IT companies operating margin by 30-50 basis point.

With analysts forecasting a scenario wherein rupee will climb between Rs 35-38 to the dollar in less than two years, are Indian IT companies looking at non-dollar geographies?
