Mkt ends flat amid volatility: Bajaj Auto, ACC up

The markets ended flat amid volatility. It opened firm and was trading higher for major part of the day. It succumed to selling pressure and closed flat. Nifty was 100 points from day's high and Sensex was down 300 points from the highs. The breadth was positive in the favour of advances with buying was seen in broader markets. Oil & gas, metal, bank stocks were among the top gainers. Select power, realty and FMCG stocks ended weak.
Sensex closed up 27.61 points or 0.15% at 18075.66, and the Nifty up 3.90 points or 0.07% at 5280.80. About 1605 shares have advanced, 1350 shares declined, and 70 shares are unchanged. The BSE Midcap Index ended at 7,685.33 up 0.6%.
The BSE Smallcap Index ended at 9,795.54 up 0.4%.
The BSE Bankex ended at 10,963.76 up 0.2%. Bank of India, Andhra Bank, Kotak Mahindra, Oriental Bank, Allahabad Bank moved upwards.
The BSE Capital Goods Index closed up 0.5% at 16,392.27. Triveni Engg, Suzlon Energy, Alstom Projects, Praj Industries, Punj Lloyd , ABB closed higher.
The BSE Auto Index closed at 4,866.49 up 1.6%. BAjaj Auto, TVS Motor, Amtek Auto, Cummins closed higher.
The BSE Metal Index closed at 16,209.95 down 0.2%. Shree Precoated, Mah Seamless, Jindal Steel, Hindalco closed lower.
The BSE FMCG Index closed up 0.5% at 2,269.29. Colgate, ITC, Bata India, Godrej Consumer, HUL, GlaxoSmith Con closed higher.
BSE Oil and Gas Index closed at 11,130.88 down 0.4%. BPCL, GAIL, Cairn India, Reliance Natura ended in red The BSE IT Index was up 0.5% at 3,849.77. I-Flex Solution, Patni Computer, Financial Tech, Mphasis, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Infosys closed higher.
The NSE cash turnover was at Rs 12714.37 crore and the NSE F&O turnover was at Rs 36397.03 crore. The BSE cash turnover was Rs 6158.38 crore. Total market wide turnover was at Rs 55269.78 crore. Mkts give up all its gains: Realty, power down
The markets have given up all its gains and are trading flat. Nifty has slipped below 5300 mark and Sensex is trading around 18,100 mark.
