Wall Street ends mixed; Dow up 73 points

The US markets ended flat but mixed after a listless and shortened session just ahead of the Independence Day holiday. The thinly traded pre market holiday market had initially cheered the not-terrible jobs report but then news of a report showing slowdown in the services sector dampened sentiment. In stock specific action, counters like General Motors and Lehman Brothers traded in the green. However tech stocks declined with counters like Nvidia plunging 30%. Earnings season kicks off next Tuesday, which should give the markets some much needed direction. The Dow gained 73.03 points, or 0.65%, to 11,288.54. The Standard & Poor's 500 index advanced 1.38 points, or 0.11%, to 1,262.90, and the Nasdaq composite index plunged 6.08 points, or 0.27%, to 2,245.38. A look at how the Indian ADRs performed:
