US markets finished higher after a choppy session boosted by a rise in financials and energy stocks. Better-than-expected durable-goods numbers surprised the street with a 1.3% jump. Dow Jones gained 0.79% or 89.64 points, to close at 11502.51. The S&P 500 closed at 1,281.66, up 10.15 points or 0.80%. The Nasdaq ended at 2382.46, up 20.49 points or 0.87%. Indian ADRs ended higher on Wednesday. However, gainers outnumbered the losers. In IT space, Infosys was up 1.58% at $ 41.17, Wipro was up 1.05% at $ 11.60, Patni Computers was up 0.95% at $ 10.61 and Satyam Computers was up 0.32% at $ 21.62. In Banking space, HDFC Bank was up 0.8% at $ 88.65, however, ICICI Bank was down 1.15% at $ 29.96. In Telecom space, Tata Communication was up 1.18% at $ 18.93, however, MTNL ends down 0.83% at $ 4.78. In other sectors, Dr Reddy’s Labs was up 0.66% at $ 13.64, Tata Motors was up 0.31% at $ 9.80 and Sterlite Industries was up 0.28% at $ 14.22. A look at how the Indian ADRs performed:
