CNBC-TV18's research analsyt, Anichya Shah has given F&O highlights: It is another day of pretty stock specific action but what's evident is that turnover was even lower if one could believe it than yesterday. At around this time, we were at about Rs 17,500-18,000 crore. It is just getting lower and lower. This time it is at about Rs 16,000 crore and this is primarily due to low contribution from the Nifty.

Remember, Nifty has been contributing between about 45-50% over the last week or so. Today the contribution has been slightly lower than about 40%. The turnover is only about Rs 5,810 crore and the net change in OI is not a whole lot and it has been hovering between about a mild premium to a mild discount, so not a whole lot has been happening in the Nifty.

NTPC after its results came out there was whole slew of fresh shorts that got built up. 23 lakh shares have been added and it has slipped into a discount. The stock is down about a percent, so it will be interesting but it has made a bit of bounce back after those fresh shorts to see whether some of these shorts would get unwound as the day ends.

Power Grid on the other hand and the rest of the power stocks - generation, distribution - all power stocks are doing pretty well with the exception of Reliance Power. Power Grid has added about 2.8 lakh shares and is in a mild discount but is up in the spot market by about Rs 2 and Reliance Energy is also up about 5%, looking pretty strong.

RPL and RNRL have seen a lot of cash volume trading. Similar is the case in the F&O space. RPL is seeing huge OI buildup - 43 lakh shares added after a pretty long time and is holding a pretty good CoC, close to about 1% on a monthly basis. The stock is up a fair bit in the spot market as well. RNRL has followed suit.

Jaiprakash Associates however has seen a fair bit of fresh shorts in today's trading session. 14 lakh shares have been added and the stock is down about Rs 3 in the spot market. It has been in pretty flattish on the futures side in terms of a premium.

Yes Bank after yesterdays rally post the results has seen some bit of profit booking and unwinding. Yes Bank has shed about 3.37 lakh shares and has gone into a bit of discount. But all in all, F&O space continues to remain pretty quite.
