Nifty Mar Fut shed 44 lakh shrs in Open Interest

CNBC-TV18's Head-Markets Research, Anuj Singhal: FIIs were the net buyers worth Rs 1,017 crore in Nifty Futures and net buyers of Rs 291 crore in Stock Futures. Nifty Futures Open Interest was down by 77,217 contracts.

Nifty March Futures shed 44 lakh shares in the Open Interest whereas Nifty April Futures added 20 lakh shares in Open Interest.

Nifty March ended at 15-point premium and April at 2-point premium. Nifty Open Interest Put-Call ratio declined marginally at 0.83 versus 0.85. Nifty Puts added 4.8 lakh shares in Open Interest. Nifty Calls added 11 lakh shares in Open Interest.

Nifty 4400 Put added 3.3 lakh shares in Open Interest. Nifty 4700 Call added 4.2 lakh shares in Open Interest. Stock Futures shed 1.3 crore shares in Open Interest.

Unitech jumped 5% in cash market. The cost of carry, CoC surged. Futures Open Int was down by 6%. Short covering rally was seen.

Yes Bank went down 14%. The CoC was down while futures Open Int up 46%. Fresh short positions were seen there.

Orchid Chemicals slipped another 11% and down nearly 50% in two days. Futures Open Int was up 9%. Further short positions were seen.

Aptech gained 4%. The CoC was up with futures Open Int up 16%. Fresh long positions were seen.
