Nifty April futures sheds 25 lakh shares in OI

CNBC-TV18's Head-Markets Research, Anuj Singhal - Futures Open Interest went up by Rs 494 crore and Options Open Int up by Rs 2177 crore. Nifty April futures shed 25 lakh shares while May futures added 27 lakh shares in Open Int. Nifty April Futures ended at 1-point discount whereas May at 1-point premium.

Nifty Open Int PCR declined at 1.24 versus 1.28. Nifty April 5000 Put added 3.5 lakh shares in Open Int, Nifty Apr 5000 Call added 5.9 lakh shares in Open Int and Stock futures added 1.8 cr shares in Open Int.

Chambal Fertilisers went up 9.4% in cash market. The cost of carry, CoC was up with futures Open Int up 31%. Fresh long positions were seen there.

Reliance Petroleum, RPL was down 2.6%. The CoC was down with futures Open Int down 6%. Unwinding of long positions were seen.

Arvind Mills has gone up by 9%. The CoC went up with futures Open Int up 6%. Fresh long positions were seen.

IRB Infra also surged 9.3% with build up in futures open interest of 140% on low base. Fresh long positions were seen.

Infosys went up 6%. The CoC was down with futures Open Int down 6%. NSE delivery volumes stood at 22.2 lakh (58%).
