CNBC-TV18's research analyst, Shravan Sreenivasula: It’s been very disappointing session in the F&O space. Looking at the end of the day action there has been no short covering which was seen; people have taken their positions, the short positions which have been created early in the session to the next day.

Nifty has added about 63 lakh shares in open interest and the interesting thing is that there has been a lot of action, which we have seen in Mini Nifty. Mini Nifty has added about 2.2 lakh shares but had a turnover of almost Rs 660 crore and this is the third biggest turnover if one sorts all these stocks on the turnover basis. Even the lacklustre ness on the market is evidence for the fact that there has no significant interest which has been added in the momentum stocks. Momentum stock like Ispat is a highest traded counter which has added just about 20 lakh shares in open interest, down about 4% or so. 

Some of the star performers in the last couple of weeks like HUL has lost about 6% in the cash market adding about 14 lakh shares in open interest and Reliance Capital has lost a whole lot; lost about 13% or so adding about 4.2 lakh shares in open interest mostly shorts which are seen in this counter. 

There are only two stocks apart from Ballarpur Industries there is only Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals which has had good session today and is up about 12% adding about 1.5 lakh shares in open interest.
