Two-days from expiry, the turnover has not really picked up. It is at about Rs 40,000 crore. Market wide rollovers stands at about 22-23% and Nifty rollover, which did see strong rollovers on Friday, did not see a huge pickup in today's trade at about 36.40%, has been rolled from about 34% which it virtually started the day out. Remember last month we rolled over one of the lowest OI positions since about June-July 2007. So it will be interesting to see whether we can buck the negative trend and increase the OI added in the May series going forward only time will tell. But what's interesting is on the option front we have seen a fair bit of action call writing at the 5,100 mark in the May series and 5,000 Put writing in the May series. But in the current series, April - with two-days to go to expiry, 5,100 Put has been extremely active. Last traded price was at about Rs 80, so Put writers will be expecting the markets to close above that 5,000 levels - about 5,020 level to breakeven by expiry in three trading sessions. Bharat Forge saw the biggest buildup in rollovers at about 61% of its positions being rolled over. A good 4 lakh shares in OI being added in the next month. India Cements is another stock that does see very strong rollovers saw about 57% of its rollovers. 10 lakh shares have been added and a good CoC, which has been seen in both the April and the May series - this stock was up about 5%. Tata Steel has to be the index stock of the day. It was up about 8% with a good buildup in the F&O space. 13.3 lakh shares added in the May series and is holding a mild bit of a discount but looked extremely strong in trade today. Aptech looked the most convincing from the midcap IT space. The stock was up about 4% and one can see good OI buildup - net buildup of 3 lakh shares with a convincing CoC and the stock is up about 2% on the monthly basis making the stock look strong. DCB a stock in favour last week saw some bit of profit booking and long unwinding in today's trade. The stock shed net about 3.11 lakh shares in OI. |
