Turnover still remains sub 40,000 crore, in line with more or less what we saw yesterday and so turnover has picked up a fair bit. Today we started on pretty muted level and as trade picked up there was Put writing again at that 4,900-5,000 level although significant Call activity was witnessed at the 5,100 level. In Nifty at the day end there was some bit of shorts, booked a bit of profits which is why open interest (OI) is down a fair bit but we did trade in a bit of discount on account of early shorts initiated early in the day. One stock that stood out in today’s trade session was Brigade Enterprises generally an illiquid stock was the F&O star today and was up 10%. 1.68 lakh shares added in the OI from a total base of 5 lakh shares. Two fertilizer stocks shot up in the last half an hour. Both Chambal Fertilizer and Nagarjuna Fertilizer saw huge OI build up. 44 lakh shares were added today in Chambal Fertilizers and total OI is only at 99 lakh share and so a big bulk of it came in today’s session, shooting into a bit of premium. SAIL post its results saw continued OI build up biased towards long side and 7 lakh shares were added at the day end. Did surge a fair bit post its result and went up 7% and went into a healthy premium considering we are only 2 weeks away from expiry. Suzlon whose results are expected next week saw good long build up in today’s trading session, there was 6 lakh shares OI addition and was up a fair bit in the Spot Market |
