`The Whole World is One Family'- is the theme for this year's International Film Festival of India (IFFI) starting from November 23 in Goa. Nearly 200 international and Indian films will be screened during the 11-day festival to be inaugurated by the veteran actor Mr Shashi Kapoor.
Special shows This year, IFFI will feature special retrospective shows of Prithviraj Kapoor's films and a special screening of Richard Attenborough's film `Gandhi'. It would be held to mark the centenary of Satyagraha movement launched by Mahatma Gandhi. The festival will open with Penelope Cruz starrer comedy `Volver' that bagged the `Best Screenplay' and `Best Actress' awards at the Festival de Cannes, 2006, and end with Brad Pitt's `Babel', winner of the `Best Director' at Cannes. |

The festival will showcase critically acclaimed international films, world premieres, children's workshops, street animation, music concerts and open-air beach screenings to delegates and the public, Ms Nandini Paliwal, CEO of Entertainment Society of Goa, the nodal agency for organising IIFI 2006 said.
