Prime Minister Manmohan Singh reiterated the government's concern on inflation, reports CNBC-TV18. He said rising food and commodity prices would make inflation management difficult and hurt growth, thereby hurt the cause of macroeconomic stability.

He said the trend of land diversion for bio fuels will affect global food supply. "We can't return to an era of blind controls and depressed agricultural prices. More than subsidies, the farm sector needs investment," he added.
