Nath says iron ore exports not hurting domestic ind: Srcs

Commerce Minister Kamal Nath in a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said the proposed 15% duty on iron ore exports would not check inflation, reports CNBC-TV18, quoting sources. "Iron ore exports are not hurting domestic industry," the letter states.

The Finance Minister had proposed to replace specific duties with ad valorem rates, sources said. Nath has denied writing this letter to CNBC-TV18.
