Crude prices jumped higher in an unexpected rise in US gasoline sales, which rose by 0.2% in March. Also, oil wells in Nigeria caught fire on April 12, causing a loss in production of about 5,000 barrels a day.

 

The black gold is currently trading at USD 112.36 per barrel on the Nymex.
