The UPA government turns four today and celebrations are already on.This years UPA dinner is politically very important because it comes under a threshold of general elections and it is also a sign of changing political equations.

The UPA is celebrating four years in power today, with the Prime Minister hosting a dinner for all the Centre's allies. The Left parties are likely to attend the dinner, but will not endorse the UPA’s four-year report card.

The report card itself, which will be unveiled before the dinner, is likely to be the beginning of the government's campaign for the 2009 elections. It will list out the major government decisions like the farm loan waiver, reservation for OBCs, etc. But there are some spoilers that may also make it to the list like runaway inflation and the Indo-US Civilian nuclear deal.

The UPA dinner was important for political reasons as it signifies the changing political equations. Amar Singh is going to be attending the dinner.

The Bahujan Samaj Party will not be attending the dinner, they had been asking for central assistant funds for Uttar Pradesh which has not been given by the Center. The Bahujan Samaj Party has left to attend the dinner but not to be a part of the celebrations due to the release of the report card.

Meanwhile, Bhardan said that the UPA has no reason to celebrate this year.
