There's good news for Bangalore. It costs Rs 3000 crore and it's all set to decongest several of the city's road; it's been over 10 years since the plan for a circular road around the periphery of Bangalore, was conceived.

The project has now received approval from the new state government. The 65-km first phase of the road connecting the north and the east of the city is scheduled to be completed in 30 months at a cost of 3000 cr rupees. None, which will come out of the state budget.

VS Acharya, Home Minister, Karnataka said, ”We are not spending any state budget money, its outside the state budget, public private participation headed aad monitored by the BDA"

The first road of the project will ease the airport traffic coming in from the west of the city. It will be 100 metres wide with eight lanes, two service roads meant to provide for bangalore's booming traffic for the next 50 years.

Acharya said, “This is a very ambitious plan. It is going ot decongest all those vehicles coming from west . there are two or three major long distance roads , all those people need not go into the city. They will be taken care of by this road.”

Old Madras road behind me will be decongested if the proposed ring road comes into play, and with the new state government determined to deliver on its promise to re-plan the face of Bangalore, it might be the first of several roads to benefit.
