Skoda Fabia: A big small car

CNBC-TV18’s Renuka Kirpalani got her hands on one of the most keenly anticipated cars in india- the Skoda Fabia. The Fabia looks and feels notches above its class, whether it is the build quality, the quality of interiors or just sheer space; this little hatch has it all.

The only place the Fabia falls a little short is in the engine department. It had a bit of turbo lag, but was still fun to drive, especially as the ride offered a great big car like feel. The top of the line Fabia will feature sunroof parking sensors, alloy wheels, projector headlamps and airbags. 

The Fabia will also have 1.4 litre petrol engine and a 1.2 option may be introduced later. As the new benchmark for premium hatches in India, the Fabia will also raise the price tag that is associated with small cars - all the way up to Rs 5.5-6.5 lakh.  But we will wait for official confirmation, when it is launched next week in New Delhi.
