The Formula One (F1) road show by Renault on the Rajpath stretch comes to Delhi on Novemeber 9. Renualt is expecting about 3 lakh visitors for the F1 race. CNBC-TV18’s Swati Khandelwal speeds through the Delhi streets to get closer to the real thrill.
The ING Renault F1 team roadshow is a multi city world tour conducted in 5-6 cities across the world every year. It has taken place in cities like Johannesburg, Mexico, Istanbul, Moscow, Kiev, Paris, Lyon and Warsaw already. Professional drivers from the Renault team will perform spectacular stunts on Renault Megane trophy cars, the toon cars, and a dispaly of Logan cars. The drivers will also show skills in tyre burnouts and making donuts.
Sylvain Bilaine, MD, Renault India, said, "If you look at the car; here you have carbon fiber chasis, carbon fiber brakes, 19,000 of rpm engine, more than 800 horsepower. You have everything that three-five years from now will be on the regular car; your car will have some of the technology of this car."
The roadshow is also aimed at highlighting India's preparedness to host big events -- with better infrastructure and facilities -- especially with Delhi hosting the Commonwealth Games in 2010, and the planned official F1 circuit in India.
