The pre-monsoon showers led to a heavy downpour across Mumbai, paralysing traffic and causing flooding in many parts of the city. While central Mumbai recorded an average rainfall of 25-30 mm, suburbs received about 36 mm of rain past midnight.

Severe waterlogging on the Bandra-Mahim-Harbour Railway Line has caused signal failure. All the western and central local trains are running late by 15 to 20 minutes. The regional Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall for Mumbai in the next 24 hours.
