On Sunday, more than two lakh students aspiring for B-shcools took the Common Entrance Test. Today, two of those Chandigarh Police arrested a former IITian and another Engineering student, on charges of attempts to cheat in CAT in Chandigarh, reports CNBC-TV18.
Basically, the charges against them are of impersonating. The police said that the plan was that they would sit at different centres and help other people to clear the examination. But now they have been arrested. They are right now in remand till November 22 and the police are now trying to find out if there are wider ramifications of this entire network and if coaching institutes too were involved in this entire scheme of defrauding of CAT system. |
