The Left parties and the opposition is getting ready to corner the government on inflation; parliament is set to see a heated debate, reports CNBC-TV18.

The opposition and Left is geared up to make the government pay the price for rising prices. Inflation has touched 7.41% - a three year high. Food prices are up and so are iron ore and steel prices.

In his first stint as Parliamentary affairs minister, Vyalar Ravi is bound to face the heat. Opposition is all prepared to take on the government on 'aam aadmi' issue of rising prices.

Ravi said, "We are ready for all issues to be discussed. I appeal to the oppostion to be calm."

UPA's worry is understandable, because not just the NDA, its own ally the Left, which will make the going tough.

BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu, asks, "They have been in power for four years, why haven't they been able to do anything about it?"

CPI leader AB Bardhan is confident people's voice will reach the Parliament.

Unfortunately, the UPA's desire to ride high on the 27% OBC reservation will be overshadowed by the rising prices. BJP will also corner the government on the handling of the Tibet issue.
