As Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton fight it out in the Democratic Presidential race, there has been much speculation on John McCain’s running mate for the white house. Could it be Bobby Jindal, the Governor of Louisiana?

According to most political analysts in America, the presumptive Republican nominee for the US presidential elections, Senator John McCain, needs to find a running mate who is young, a conservative and preferably from the south. Now, some conservative commentators are putting forth the name of the first ever Indian-American Governor, Bobby Jindal, for the post of Vice-President.

When Jindal won the Louisiana election in October 2007 and gave his acceptance speech, he sounded somewhat like McCain's probable democratic rival, Senator Barack Obama.

“We can change, we must change and we will change,” said Bobby Jindal.

Prominent Indian-American supporters of Senator McCain, like New York-based hotelier Vijay Dandapani, believe Jindal could help McCain in getting some votes from the community and more significantly in raising funds.

“Jindal is an Indian-American, he was born in this country and will probably move some people in that direction,” said Vijay Dandapani, John McCain supporter..

However, Dandapani like many others is skeptical that Jindal will ultimately be the choice for the VP slot.

Those close to Bobby Jindal say he's unlikely to be McCain's running mate in the US presidential election. He's just taken over as Louisiana's Governor in January and that's the job he wants to focus on while building a national profile.
