British PM backs India on Security Council membership

Speaking at the annual luncheon hosted by the Labour friends of India, an independent parliamentary group, Britain’s Prime Minister Gordon Brown backed India’s membership of the Security Council and highlighted the increasing role of India in global decision-making.
Brown said, “India and the UK can help reform institutions so that we don't have the same credit crunch crises that we have now. We need institutions that commands the support of Asian economies for crises prevention and crisis resolution.”
