Even as the Trinamool Congress' indefinite dharna continues in Singur - the Tatas are ensuring that the work in the Nano plant goes on smoothly - taking almost 700 workers with police protection to the plant.

Tata Motors surely is running out of time and patience as this deadlock continues. Contract labourers have not been coming to the plant for the last five days now. It seems unlikely that Tata Motors will be able to meet their launch deadline in October unless they spring into action at Pant Nagar or elsewhere.

We spoke to some of the people protesting at Singur to get their view. They said, "Tatas should use only as much land as is required and give us back our 400 acres of land. The government is fooling the people. This industry has no work for men. It will only have robots and computers. The opposition has not destroyed any property of the government till date. The CPM has destroyed Bengal completely. They have caused the state to lose crores of rupees."
