Steel Min asks SAIL not to hike prices in Aug: Srcs

CNBC-TV18 has learnt from sources that the Steel Ministry has asked SAIL not to hike prices in August. Sources added that the Ministry will also ask private companies to hold prices. Steel makers had promised to hold prices till August. According to sources, inflation control is the top priority.

The Steel Ministry is going to ask steel makers to extend their freeze on prices. It has already asked SAIL to hold prices in August. It is learnt that it will ask private steel makers to also keep prices stable. The three-month freeze on steel prices was to end in August.
