Tata Motors have not been caught off guard on the new emission norms that may get legislated by 2012. Tata Motors said that they were aware of the proposed EU emission norms It said that the discussion on the new EU norms have been on for 2-3 years.
JLR will invest £700 million to develop green technologies. Tata Motors is also planning a global R&D hub in UK.
Tata Motors-JLR said that it’s working hard on reducing the carbon dioxide emission levels across cars. The new EU Emission norms will cut the carbon dioxide emissions to an average of 130 g/km by 2012.
