By  Amrita Martin and Krupali Pandit Yadav CNBC-TV18:

If you love fishing and are looking for a place to relax this summer, we have the perfect coastal vacation for you.

For Rs 100 , you can fish, have local seafood curry, wash it down with tender coconut water and spend a lazy afternoon snoozing on the hammock admiring the backwaters. And if you want to live it up, you have the option of pedaling a boat!

Njarakkal is a 15 km drive from  Kochi city. The fish farm is set up by Matsyafed, which is the federation of fisherman's cooperatives in Kerala . It began advertising the fish farm as a tourist destination last year. And they have been overwlemed by the response from tourists. More than a 1000 people have visited the fish farm.

Rejith, a student says he came to Njarakkal to enjoy his summer vacations and feeling good.  He said it’s a very soothing place. He also enjoyed the boating.

Jacob john agrees with him saying, “We don’t have the time to go to different places. This place is close to nature and not so commercialised, a difference when we get back from normal working days.
