Deccan launches copter service

Bangalore, July 1 Deccan Aviation has launched the country’s first helicopter limo service to ferry passengers from the city to the airport and back.
The service called `Deccan Skylimo’ will have three helipads from three places in Bangalore, including Infosys Technologies campus and will cost between Rs 4,800 and Rs 5,800 a passenger each way. The company has deployed two five seater helicopters, each costing around $4 million. The Bangalore International Airport Ltd has said that it is exploring the option to set up a separate terminal for low cost airlines which will cost around $20 million. Taken from Business Line |

Deccan Aviation Managing Director, Capt G.R. Gopinath, told newspersons after the service was launched by the Karnataka Chief Minister, Mr B.S. Yediyurappa, that a similar service will be launched in Hyderabad and Mumbai in another six months at an investment of $12 million.
