Citigroup has announced plans to shut its UK BPO business Future Mortgages and 49 Citifinancial branches. It wants to exit from sub-prime lending in Britain, which will lead to a loss of up to 700 jobs. The bank’s UK business has 92,000 sub-prime customers and will continue to service them on existing terms.
