CBDT makes filing returns easier

The Central Board of Direct Taxes, or CBDT, has clarified that no annextures like TDS, TCS certificates need to be attached with returns, except ITR 7. It said assesses are supposed to retain all supporting documents and produce the same when demanded.

It said assesses are liable to e-pay taxes, they may not pay it from their own bank account but must quote their own PAN. As per Section 44 AB, assesses are required to e-pay both TDS, and tax collected at source.
