Key indices closed higher on Thursday, buoyed by gains in global markets. Also, a robust increase of 9.6% in six core infrastructure sectors in the month of March further lifted the sentiments. Index heavyweights like Reliance Industries, Infosys, L&T and R Com lifted the benchmark Sensex past the 17,300 mark.

The bulls have had an impressive week notwithstanding the lack of catalysts. Global signs are looking encouraging this morning, buoyed by rally in US market and firm Asian markets. Going by that trend, we also should open higher. Having said that, there is no certainty over the strength in the rally. Inflation figures to be announced today holds the key for the markets in the near term.
