Asian mkts end mixed; Hang Seng down 759 pts

Asian markets ended mixed after big fall on Wall Street amid credit concerns, which is likely to trigger US recession. Hang Seng closed at 21,108.22, down 758.72 points or 3.47%. Jakarta Composite fell 0.69% or 16.23 points at 2,323.57. Straits Times was down 8.3 points or 0.295 at 2,824.91.

However, Shanghai Composite rose 42.45 points or 1.13% to settle at 3,804.05. Seoul Composite was up 1.16 points or 0.07% at 1,623.39. Taiwan Weighted rose 158.27 points or 1.93% to end at 8,337.62.

Asian markets trading weak

Asian markets were trading weak. Hong Kong's Hang Seng plunged 3.71% or 810.22 points at 21,056.72.

Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted declined 0.32% or 26.38 points at 8,152.97.

Singapore's Straits Times was down 1.44% or 40.88 points at 2,792.33.

South Korea's Seoul Composite fell 1.55% or 25.16 points at 1,597.07.
