Japan's Nikkei plunged 1.97% or 268.55 points at 13,334.76.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng tumbled 1.50% or 347.01 points at 22,740.71.

Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted slipped 1.82% or 134.46 points at 7,233.62.

Singapore's Straits Times declined 1.85% or 55 points at 2,922.91.

South Korea's Seoul Composite was down 1.73% or 28.21 points at 1,597.93.
