Singapore's Straits Times slipped 0.23% or 6.87 points at 2,919.68.
However, Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted gained 2.51% or 207.24 points at 8,410.18.
Japan's Nikkei was up 0.10 points at 12,992.28.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 0.21% or 50.45 points at 23,534.52.
However, Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted gained 1.78% or 147.31 points at 8,410.18.
Singapore's Straits Times was flat at 2,925.35.
South Korea's Seoul Composite was flat at 1,670.75.
