Asian markets end higher: Straits Times up 102 points

Asian markets ended higher. Singapore's Straits Times was up 102.88 or 3.64% points at 2,927.79.  

South Korea's Seoul Composite added 0.58% or 9.61 points at 1,655.30.  

Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted surged 3.99% or 340.36 points at 8,865.35.   

However, Japan's Nikkei slipped 0.02% or 2.48 points at 12,480.09.

Asia trading firm: Taiwan up 4%

Asian markets were trading firm. Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted surged 4.05% or 344.84 points at 8,869.83 after opposition’s leader won presidential election, boosted prospects of improved trade with China.

Japan's Nikkei rose 0.37% or 46.33 points at 12,528.90.

Singapore's Straits Times was up 2.34% or 66.11 points at 2,891.02.

South Korea's Seoul Composite added 0.44% or 7.26 points at 1,652.95.
