MONEYCONTROL'S NFO RATING

Moneycontrol's Rating of NFOs is arrived at after an in-depth analysis of critical parameters, such as the size and expertise of the Asset Management Company within the asset class, relative performance of similar schemes in the asset class, and performance of NFOs by the AMC in the last one year. Only AMC with at least 12-month performance track record are considered for the rating. The rating is on a scale of one to five with the former being the least score and the latter being the maximum score assigned.

The rating seeks to keep investors informed about how well the NFO can perform. However, investors are cautioned that past performance is not indicative of the future performance of the fund.

Moneycontrol's AMC Score captures the AMC's total assets under management in the respective asset class - equity or debt. It also captures the AMC's expertise in India and globally in managing funds in the given asset class.

Moneycontrol scores for Existing Schemes of the AMC reflect the scheme's historical return performance relative to peers. Only schemes with at least 12-month performance track record are considered. The overall calculation is based on equal weighted average of the product of fund rating and its asset size for all schemes from the AMC in the asset class.

Moneycontrol scores for recent NFOs reflect the scheme's return performance relative to peers. The overall calculation is based on equal weighted average of percentile ranks for the total return metrics over 6 months or 3 months (as applicable) of all schemes launched by the AMC in the last one year.

The Moneycontrol NFO Rating is determined by taking equal weighted average of the AMC score, the Existing Scheme Score, and the Recent NFO Score.
