Sameer1Because 70 % of its additional profits are fro treasury gains (non cash) and actually their NPAs have gone up......the increase in NII and general profitability is good, but the market had already discounted it...expect a lackluster sideways movement from here on. A good stock though...

Canara Bank has informed BSE that Shri. Ajay Mathur, Chartered Accountant, New Delhi, was nominated as a part-time non-official Director for a period of three years with effect from October 13, 2006 by Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (Banking Division), New Delhi, vide Gazette Notification dated October 13, 2006, in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (3) (g) of Section 9 of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970/1980.
The term of the said Director completed on October 12, 2009, and he ceased to be a Director on the Board of the Bank on the said date....
