Company`s R & D division developed, fabricated and put into commission the headmast and tail- mast for 700 m span cable ropeway for Alamatti Dam as also 1500 mm dia. double-wall casing for executing the pile foundations for transmission towers at Tezpur for 60 m deep piles. Gammon History Part 1:
Gammon India was incorporated in 1922 and converted into a public Ltd. company on 31st April 1962. At the time of incorporation, the name of the Company was J. C. Gammon (Mumbai) Ltd. The first work carried out by Mr. J. C. Gammon was the construction of reinforced oncrete pile foundations for Gateway of India. The name was changed to Gammon India Ltd. In 1975, Gammon Nirma Ltd. was incorporated as a subsidiary of the company.
Another subsidiary Gammon Turnkeys Ltd. was formed. In 1977 company associated with Gammon Eastern Union Ltd., Hong Kong, which promoted Gammon Mideast Ltd. joint venture Company in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. This joint venture company was incorporated to undertake construction and service contracts in the Middle East and elsewhere.
A new joint venture company, Heitkamp Gammon Ltd., was being established with Gammon India Ltd., and Heitkamp Rohrbau GmbH, West Germany as the principal promoter shareholder. In 1989 R&D Division of the company undertook development of energy efficient GFRP bladed fans for ID Cooling towers and PP splash grid modular packing system for ND/ID covering towers, alternative packing systems etc.

A joint venture (JV) of Pratibha Industries with Gammon India has bagged the latest order from Bangalore Water Supply & Sewerage Board for procurement, fabrication and laying of clear water. The project is to be executed within 26 months.

"The NHAI has given the letter of award to the company for upgrading NH-47 from Patna to Muzaffarpur in the State of Bihar," Gammon Infrastructure Projects said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The estimated cost of the project is Rs 8.50 billion, it said and added that the concession period of the highway project is 15 years including the construction period of 2.5 years.
The company has been awarded this road project under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) of the NHAI on a build, operate and transfer (annuity) basis.
Under the project, Gammon Infra would be responsible for upgrading the existing highway (NH-47) to a four lane dual carriageway and constructing a 16.8-km bypass that will connect NH-28 of the East-West Corridor with the state, it added

My Friend:
Pillars will fall if Public Works department starts digging a tunnel for Water/Cables/Sewer etc... as the strength of a pillar not only comes from the construction of the pillar but the stability of the ground around it..
unfortunately the news flow is only: "One more pillar fell"
A more proper news flow should investigate the reasons.
The last time the pillars fell it was the PWD which had done some digging close to the pillars which never made it to the news..

Gammon India is very good company .One must not underestimate the strength of the company.As per me stock may soon Rs.300/- they havelong list of pending orders .Buy ,if you do not have this stock in your oportfolio.

It is not Gammon but one of the subcontractors..
Gammon is already prequalified for Nuclear power plant construction... It is very strong in its area and now with the merger of Power Transmission company the promoters have increased their stake at very competetive rates.. you can expect the company stock to be atleast 1000 in a year or two.
Company is very well placed to take advantage of the construction boom!!
